What is badminton?
Badminton is the world’s fastest racket sport, played between two players (singles) or two pairs (doubles) in two half-courts separated by a net. Players score points by hitting a shuttlecock with a racket in order to make it fall into the opponent’s court or to cause a fault in the opponent. The rally ends as soon as the shuttlecock touches the ground
How is badminton played?
A match is played to the best of 3 sets of 21 points each: the player or team that wins 2 sets wins the match. Whoever wins a rally adds one point to their score. If the score is 20-20, the set is extended: the points continue to be counted until one of the players or teams leads by 2 points (2-point difference rule) and wins the set (example: 22-20, 28-26).
