What is baseball?

Baseball is a team sport played between two teams of nine players. The aim of the attacking team is to score runs by running the players around four bases arranged in a diamond shape on the pitch. A batter tries to hit the ball thrown by an opponent and, if successful, runs around the bases to score a run. The sport requires hitting skills, speed and precise coordination, as well as a quick strategy on the field. It is very popular in the United States, Japan and other countries, generating a great deal of interest within the sporting community.

How do you play baseball?

Non-competitive baseball allows greater freedom. The pitcher sends the ball to the catcher, equipped with a bat, who has to hit it far to run around a defined area and score a run for his team. The pitcher then tries to retrieve the ball with a glove and bring it back to the pitching area to eliminate the catcher, who has now become a runner. The players on the attacking team take turns batting while the players on the defensive team are positioned on the pitch to catch the ball returned by the batsman. Once all the players on the attacking team have batted, the roles are reversed. The winning team is the one with the most points.
