What is beach tennis?
Beach tennis is usually played on sand, but it can be adapted to any large enough space. It can be played indoors, on a volleyball court or in a park. The rules are similar to those of tennis, with the exception of the bounce: the game consists solely of volley shots, without the ball bouncing.
How to play beach tennis?
Beginners wishing to familiarise themselves with the equipment can first play exchanges with their partner, making them last as long as possible, without counting points, without a net and on an informal area (no specific surface or court dimensions). For more experienced players, the game follows similar rules to classic tennis, with rotations of serve and points scored for each rally. A game is played in sets of 6, 7 or 9 games. Points are counted in the same way as in tennis (0/15/30/40), except that there is no advantage at 40/40 and the next point is played.
