What is Crossminton?

Crossminton (formerly known as Speed Badminton), also known as Speedminton, is a variation of badminton played without a net. This variant was invented by Bill Brandes from Berlin, who aimed to create an outdoor version of badminton. Unlike traditional badminton, Crossminton avoids disruptions from the wind by using a heavier shuttlecock and integrating elements from tennis, badminton, and squash.

How to play Crossminton?

Two players or two teams compete with special rackets and fast shuttlecocks on a court consisting of 2 squares of 5.5m separated by 12.8m. The goal is to rally the shuttlecock from one zone to another without it touching the ground. The rules are flexible, allowing for playful practice with minimal constraints, often adapted to the available space. Players can adjust to different distances and playing styles, enabling a free and creative approach to the discipline.
